Humans are Strange

Day-Late
I am really starting to like fall more than I used to…for
lots of different reasons. Thanksgiving has lots of good smells, and
we always manage to get a least a little turkey and giblet gravy. And
with all the guests and ensuing confusion, we usually manage to steal
more than the humans give us. Works for me!
Fall also brings falling temperatures, and that means cuddle time. Burrowing
under the covers is fun too. I even like to nest in the warm towels
and clothes after Meowmie does laundry. And the little room with the
porcelain fountain turns into a steam bath when Meowmie takes a “long
hot shower”. Just as long as I don’t have get wet!
I think my favorite thing of all in fall is the leaves. Humans seem
to like to watch the colors change, but I think that’s pretty
boring. I like the rustling noise they make when those little woodland
creatures try to sneak around…makes for pretty good snacking around
our house. And Meowmie always fills the one window well (where the clothes
dryer vents) with fresh leaves every year so that any strays we might
have in the area at least have somewhere to get out of the wind and
a dry place to nest in really bad weather.
But the strangest part of autumn by far is Halloween and the silly human
custom of “Trick or Treat.” Somewhere along the line I think
they dropped a letter. Every d*g and most of the cats in the world know
that it should be “Trick for Treat.” Do a trick, get a treat,
and it works 365 days a year!!
Humans are strange, they really are!
