A Party for Sara
by Sara
It was a very spooky night, full of creepy sounds. The wind was blowing and the trees were scratching and tapping on the windows. There was a full moon and lots of scary shadows and, we could hear the coyotes singing their mournful songs. Of course, everyone had to wear a costume, so when the guests started to arrive, we wouldn't know who is who. We were saving that for midnight.
We had princesses and ballerinas, Batcat and Supercat, witches and goblins and one little ghostie. We played games and there was plenty of catnip for everyone! After a while we all sat around the table for a Halloween feast. There was SO much food that it took me a while to notice that there were actually 13 of us sitting around that table.
I asked Keek if he invited an extra kitty and he said that he didn't and he also said not to bother him since he was busy trying to eat all the turkey meat before the guests saw it. I was very confused but I didn't want to be rude, so I didn't say anything. We all ate and ate and ate! We ate so much that we had to take a nap. When we woke up, it was midnight and time to show each other who we really were. As we started taking off our masks, I couldn't help but notice that there was now only 12 of us. The little cat in the ghostie costume had disappeared. How could a kitty just disappear? Did I imagine him or did a REAL GHOST come to our Halloween party? Do ghosties eat turkey meat? Do ghosties play and take naps???
